Operational Guide
- Insert the 9V batteries into both the tone generator and the probe.
- Connect the tone generator to the cable under test using the RJ45 port or alligator clips.
- Select 'Digital' mode for active network cables or 'Analog' for standard copper wire runs.
- Turn on the probe and adjust the volume dial.
- Trace the length of the cable or scan the punch-down block; the signal will reach peak volume when the probe is directly over the correct wire.
- Use the 60Hz filter button if you experience buzzing from nearby mains power.
